I just got the following email from Tina, the owner of Femina Potens:
"I just wanted to touch base with you regarding Screw Up. Our monthly erotic lit evening has been moved to the 2nd friday of every month which is the date that we had set up for Screw Up. Is it possible to move Screw Up to another day of the month? Maybe the 2nd saturday? Or 3rd friday? Let me know what might work best for you."
After further inquiring on my part, she wrote:
"We really love Screw Up too and would love to keep you all there. The only way I can see keeping them on the same date is maybe doing Screw Up before Sizzle like 5:30 - 7:30. Or maybe 6 - 8pm. Sizzle is supposed to start at 8pm though. Let me know if you think that would be an easier way of doing things."
What's the verdict?

"The first weekend of the month we already have monthly events booked and we can't have Sizzle on the second saturday as it is in direct conflict with another monthly queer lit evening and share an audience. We have to keep the FP events in the 1st two weeks of the month so I can be available to shoot outside of SF the latter half of the month to pay rent on the gallery and keep it going. Let me know what you hear from the rest of the group and how we can best facilitate continuing to provide space for you all." -

Wed, January 28, 2009 - 12:01 PMI often have commitments on third Fridays, and would hate to conflict with the Exiles in any case... Don't know if other folks are ready to step in to the making things happen role, but I might have to step out with that option... I wonder about how changing our schedule will effect folks who have known our setup for years? Do we need to consider hunting for another venue to keep continuity? Could we manage to be there from 6-8, and if so, would setup for the lit event intrude on our time?
Sorry for all the questions, and lack of answers. What do other folks think?

Sun, February 8, 2009 - 7:36 AMI've been hesitant to respond since I'm not able to participate very often these days, and probably still won't have time once I move back. But input is needed, so here's my two cents with an eye toward keeping the group happening more than personal preferences.
-screwup oughtn't conflict with Exiles or any other large and established kinky club meeting
-5:30-7:30 is too early on day when most folks work.
-Though in general I think Friday is a better time, the second Saturday seems like the best option of those presented by FP. It wouldn't be as confusing to switch the day as it would the week.
-Getting unconventional: What about a Thursday night? A Sunday afternoon?
And in my own interests, I'd love to teach a screwup in April even if it needs to be on a different day/time than usual.
