Hey good peeps....we need topics for the next quarter for screwup. We'll probably be moving to a site on Market street, just fyi.
You don't have to consider yourself an expert...Screwup is diy, so if you have a passion or an interest, just share that experience, how others can do it, do a little research on helpful things to share (nothing like learning while sharing), and ideally something folks can do in the setting. Those are my helpful hints, and not necessarily what is expected by others who attend.
Screwup is BDSM for Trans and Queers, so it's helpful if the topic can be trans centric, or really inclusive of trans issues/awareness, it can be a sex positive presentation, instead of BDSM (like I did a porn night in febuary, but it was trans porn). March was on fun with ropes.
Post here or the screwup yahoo group and folks will help you nail it all down, so to speak.

I was also thinking about whether they might be willing to commit to every month space for us, even if there is a show up... It would be great to be in one place ongoing. I'm looking into the LGBT center for the same, but feel like FP is a little more our speed for comfort.

What kind of space fee/contribution do you think we'd really be able to offer them? Not sure what other spaces are renting for, but I suspect there's a middle ground between nothing and a lot that we could manage.

What do we think? is it worth paying a reasonable sliding scale for a stable place and not having to look around all the time? (that was a leading question on my part) also - FP is a non profit that is trying to be a good community space. I'm in favor...

We could do a Pride Month decompression type event in July. A meet and Greet break out of the scene-box get to know yer neighbor type soiree? It could focus on getting some shy folks in, new folks who are scared of the "clique" type setting often found in BDSM groups, long-time screw-uppers who'd like to meet new folks, ect. Small group discussions could switch up so everyone gets a chance to hear each other. Something relatively relaxing and yet interactive (I know...a paradox for some, but it could work). I love teachings and demos and stuff, and I also love discussion driven stuff that doesn't have a "teacher"....we haven't done that in a bit.
If someone would be willing to co-facilitate w/ me, I'd be up for putting this together in time for flyers in June. I'm up[ for workin' w/ folks I haven't met (yet)!

Some getting to know you stuff (I learned some really fun 1 on 1 and group exercises relating to top/bottom communication....both physical and verbal...they are improv acting exercises!).
And well, what do people want? what do you want to do when surrounded by a bunch of curious, new and old screw-uppers? (um, within context...or at least some of the ideas within context :) ) Especially the more shy folks.....how would you like support in meeting folks at screw-up and interacting with them?
